Dental implant’, the name itself sounds scary to a layman. However, it can get even scarier if it is not worked upon and can make serious injury to your teeth.

Having a fear about implants is very common. Most of the dental patients say that the procedure doesn’t hurt much and pain is minimal. Plus the advantage of having an implant is that you can have that confident smile without holding anything back.

Tooth implants costs can vary depending on the kind of treatments and the procedure.

So how does the tooth implant surgery actually work?

  • A dental implant process is conducted over a period of months and the correct procedure should be followed. The dentist and the patient at this time work in tandem to get the desired positive result.
  • Starting with the procedure an incision is made in the gum, which is implanted in the jawbone using a screw.
  • After the implant is placed, the gums are surgically stitched. This is a comparatively delicate procedure and the implant must heal at least for three-six months. In this period the jawbone will from around the implant.
  • After the implant is healed it is supported paving the way for a new tooth. An impression is taken of the support which is used to create tooth restoration.
  • After the restoration you will have to check up with your dentist for follow-ups.

Will there be pain during surgery?

The incision, drilling and screwing may sound scary but of course the dentist takes required care so that you experience minimal pain or no pain altogether.

Normally a local anesthesia is used. But if still you are nervous, a sedative option is used to make you more comfortable during the procedure.

Today there are various dental hospitals and clinics with the most advanced techniques to give you the best.
