Everyone wants a healthy smile and for that, you have to take the utmost care maintain your teeth. However, there are some factors due to which you may not be able to keep a healthy and a white smile. Some are natural while some can be due to some accident and others due to the ill maintenance of the teeth.

With the help of whitening, the stains can be removed from your teeth which are normally caused by tea or it changes the colour of the dentin. (Dentin is the bulk of the tooth beneath the enamel)

If you actually want to change the colour of the dentin then it requires bleaching. It has a more lasting effect and makes teeth shades three-five times lighter and the colour can last for about 3 years.

Does whitening work on all teeth?

Probably not. You have to get an x-ray done to examine how the whitening procedure really works for you. Plus your habits also play a very important role. Excessive consumption of tobacco, cold drinks, very hot or very cold beverages can also have a drastic effect on your teeth and in such cases, whitening will work that positively. It also won’t be effective if it is caused by medications or a tooth injury. Similarly, if you have a ceramic veneers treatment it can be a bit tough to get a whitening treatment done.

Are there any side effects of teeth whitening?

Teeth Whitening may develop teeth sensitivity and may affect the nerve of your tooth.

Excessive whitening can also damage your enamel or gums so take the accurate precautions and do thorough research before going for a teeth whitening treatment.

So should you ever go for teeth whitening?

A teeth whitening treatment will help you give a smile makeover and the effect will last for at least around 3 years as mentioned above, however you have to be extra cautious after the treatment
